May, 26 2009 Message from the Chair The long course national season has finally finished with the World Championship Trials completed this week in Christchurch. Capital Swim Club have performed exceptionally well in the National rankings this year. We were ranked top Wellington club at every competition this year and are also the highest achieving New Zealand club outside Auckland. The Juniors team started the ball rolling with a hard fought 5th place overall in February, followed by an impressive 3rd place for the Age Group team at home here in the Kilbirnie pool in March and now the seniors have just recorded their best result in five years with a 2nd place ranking at World Trials, which is a tremendous result for the club (Gary will highlight the individual results later). It all adds up to a spectacular season and bodes well for the future. We believe, as do others in the swimming community throughout the country, we have one of the best clubs and quality group of coaches in New Zealand at present and will only get stronger if we all continue to work hard together. The philosophy and traditions at the club has been a recipe for success and it’s a pleasure to be involved with such a great team spirit. Well done to all involved..............Go Capital!
