December, 18 2009 Christmas Message From the Chair Hi Everyone I hope you all will enjoy the break over Xmas, both swimmers and parents, you certainly have earned it! Fantastic results over the year from the juniors right up to our top swimmers. There are too many champions at the club to mention all by name, but amongst our elite swimmers we saw Samantha Lee become the first women in NZ to to go under 1 minute for the 100 fly, Gareth Kean has had a great season as one of the countries top backstrokers and was named as Wellington's Emerging Sportsperson of 2009 and, this week, Tash Hind took bronze at the Queensland State Champs narrowly missing out to two Australian Olympic Gold medalists in the 100 Free. Remember all of those swimmers have come through the Capital ranks and been to many summer camps, just like many of you are preparing to do. But first its the small matter of pressies and Xmas food!
