HOW TO ENTER A SWIM MEET Info for New Parents and Swimmers When a meet is coming up a dodger/flyer is posted on this website and also e-mailed to those swimmers who have supplied e-mail addresses. This outlines the events available for entry, the swim meet rules, the cost of entry per event and the closing date for entries. Late entries will not be accepted Meet Entries: This will be updated shortly. In the meantime you may find information here. Changes cannot be made after they leave the Race Secretary’s hands and usually entry fees are not refundable. All race entries must be made through the Race Secretary. Any contact with meet organisers must also be made via the Race Secretary. Once the meet is over, all meet results go to the Race Secretary who then records them against each individual swimmer. Official times are used to see if a swimmer’s time meets the time standards set for a selected meet. They are also used for selecting regional teams and relays. It is important for all swimmers to keep times in all distances and strokes up to date as selections are based on official times and cannot be submitted to Wellington Swimming Association if they are too old. The Race Secretary and/or coach can assist with meet criteria and suitability if required, as they usually know which level of swimmer each meet is targeted at. Meet entries for younger swimmers should always be made with the consultation of the coach. Feel free to ring the Race Secretary with any meet enquiries as they will make the necessary calls to get the information if it is not at hand. |
